All finalists vying for the 38th edition of the prestigious IRHA-IRHBA-NRHA Non Pro and Open Derby Championships are now set for the Finals which will be held on Friday and Saturday respectively.
Quarter Dream Open Derby Go Round Leaders
Wednesday, the Italian city of violins saw riders competing in the second section of the Quarter Dream Open Derby qualifier. Topping the IRHBA-IRHA Level 4 Open and IRHA Level 4 Open was NRHA Million Dollar Rider Manuel Cortesi riding 7 Heaven Reining Horses’ Frozen Sven, a 5-year-old stallion by NRHA 3 Million Dollar Sire SG Frozen Enterprise x Lady Master bred by Roberto Cuoghi. They closed their run with a 224. “I happy with this first go and that the horse has is in good shape. During the winter break, he had the opportunity to rest, limiting himself to a few schooling shows. He has always achieved great results, and the main goal is to maintain him in this condition. Now, we will focus on refining a few things for the final, after which, as they say, may the best one win,”
The IRHA-IRHBA Level 3 top score, a 221.5, was earned by Andrea Costa and Gunnaceemerock. The 6-year-old stallion, sired by NRHA 13 Million Dollar Sire Gunnatrashya out of Arc Cee N Sparks is owned by Daniel Straumann and was bred by Arcese Quarter Horses USA.
In the IRHA-IRHBA Level 2 division, Pierluigi Fabbri and Captain Rooster Jac (AB Captain Badger x Rooster Flash N Glo), a 5-year-old stallion owned by Giorgio Guida and bred by Angelucci Quarter Horses, took the lead with a 218.5 score.
Two riders tied for the top score in the IRHA-IRHBA Level 1 division with a 214.5: Luca Dossetto and the 7-year-old stallion Trashya King (NRHA Thirteen Million Dollar Sire Gunnatrashya x CG Lady Corona), owned by Bernice Engel, and Gabriele Costantini and Whizkey Princess (Dun It For Whizkey x Watch My Guns), a 7-year-old mare owned by Loris Raffagnato and bred by Cardinal Hill Training Center LLC.
The IRHA Level 1 saw Maya Robert-Marrie and Hey Mister CJ (CJ Whiz x Lil Nu Chex), a 6-year-old stallion owned and bred by Ludivine Tsirtsikolou, score a 217 for the lead.
The first go round of the Open Derby also determined the qualifiers for the World Reining 2025 Senior Professional Riders category.

Thursday and Friday Action
Thursday will feature NRHA ancillary competition along with the Senior Non Professional, Prime Time Non Professional, Young Professional Riders and Senior Professional Riders World Reining 2025 qualification held class-in-class.
Friday 28 will welcome the IRHA-FISE Debuttanti Entry Level Youth Bis Championship Finals, the NRHA Youth class and World Reining 2025 Junior Riders qualifier. The day will close with the DeNiroBootCo. IRHA-IRHBA-NRHA Non Pro Derby Finals.
